2008-09-22 Studio update + Thanks!!!
First of all, a big thank you to everyone who showed up on the recent tour through Europe. Despite a broken van and the evil powers from above, we managed to get through the whole tour without any cancellations. Extra special cheers to our touring buddies Switchblade (hz,bz,kz!!), and salutes to Bunkur, Sardonis, Serpentcult, A Storm of Light and the other fine bands we had the pleasure of sharing stages with. See you again in 2009.
Yes, we are getting ready to hit the studio again. If everything goes as planned, we'll enter Teknikkompaniet in Vetlanda on October 25th, once again together with Peter Lundin. In other words, most of our autumn and winter will be spent working in the studio. Expect this album to be released in the spring. We'll probably keep a photo diary here, so keep an eye out.
Despite busy recording times, we'll do a few shows soon, like Debaser Medis in Stockholm with Cult Of Luna on Oct 16, and the Amplifier Worship III festival in Finland two days after. See our profile for more info.

2008-08-05 A summer newsflash
The summer heat has finally found it's way to Sweden. While some might think we're acting like regular people, lying in the grass and enjoying life all day, we're producing massive amounts of sweat in the rehearsal space writing our forthcoming album, likely to be entitled "Shadows of the shapeless". The writing progress is going really good and each day the vision of the final album becomes clearer and clearer. The plan is to enter the studio in the fall, ready to unleash this brick in early 2009.
Can't wait to get out on the roads and try the new material on you fellows. Apart from some one off shows here and there during the late summer and autumn, we'll also team up with our Swedish brethren of SWITCHBLADE for a week long tour leading us to Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark and the south of Sweden. A couple of shows are still waiting to be confirmed so keep looking back to see if any new dates appears.
Last but not least. We're proud to let you know that we'll be opening for the almighty NEUROSIS on their only Scandinavian show this year. Be sure to show up at Kanonhallen, Oslo on august 12 for a night beyond all heaviness!

2008-02-07 New vinyl, new shows, new songs
It's been a couple of months of silence from the Kongh camp, but we haven't been asleep all the time. Therefore we post this blog to try to sum up most of what's going on at the moment.
The somewhat delayed vinyl version of "Counting Heartbeats" has finally seen the light of day. This wonderful double LP in gatefold packaging came out even better than expected, so make sure to order your copy today! Available at various retailers, here's a couple:
www.sounddevastation.co.uk
www.conspiracyrecords.com
www.soundpollution.se
www.trustnoonerecordings.com
www.kongh.net (yes, it can be ordered from us, but since it's such a heavy package, the shipping costs will be pretty expensive if you live outside of sweden)
more to come...
Other killer vinyl releases:
"Pharmacopoeia" - 5 x 7 inch box set on Land O Smiles. Includes a split 7" with Kongh and Witch-Lord. Our contribution is an exclusive track from our first demo called "Turn into dust", recorded 2 years ago. Box set limited to 250 copies, but we have a few spare copies of the Kongh/W-L single (25 only!). OUT NOW! Order box set from www.landosmiles.com, order spare 7" from us.
Kongh/Ocean Chief split LP - heavy epic meeting of two of Sweden's heaviest and loudest bands! Both bands dishing out an exclusive +25 minute track each. Limited to 500 copies on the thickest vinyl world has seen. Not much more to say, you need this fucker! Up for pre-order on www.landosmiles.com now, ships early march.
Got a bunch of nice live shows coming up. On march 1 we'll once again head up north for a show in Sandviken w/ Wolfbrigade, Counterblast and some other not so slow, but good bands. In april, we'll get into the van together with our friends in Ocean Chief and Suma to do 3-4 gigs around Scandinavia. Later in april we'll also play at the legendary Roadburn Festival (no further info needed), followed by a few european gigs in late april.
A few more shows are in the works, including a release party for the Ocean Chief split LP that will probably be held in Linköping on may 2nd. Apart from some other nice events during the spring/summer, we'll also be working hard on new material. Lots of songs are in the works, and we hope to enter the studio sometime after the summer.
That's about it for now... stay tuned and take care.

2007-12-17 P3 ROCK interview
Last week David and Tomas made a visit to the swedish radio house in Stockholm and got interviewed by Håkan Persson of P3 Rock. The interview and some Kongh music will be broadcast on this next thursday night (dec 20) at 23 o'clock. Don't miss it!
Tack som bara fan to everybody who showed up on our tour last week. We had a great time. Huge thanks and hails to our dear brothers in SWITCHBLADE with whom we toured. Expect to see this unholy tour alliance again during the coming year. Where we'll play? Who knows! Be prepared for the worst and bring your holy water.

2007-12-06 A little of everything
First of all, we want to send a huge thank you to everybody who showed up and drank beer and enjoyed our gigs on the german tour a couple of weeks ago. Many cheers as well to our dear doom pals and tour buddies of OCEAN CHIEF. You guys rule! We'll be back in Germany again soon, for sure (and the rest of europe for that matter).
Last monday it made the news that our "Counting Heartbeats" album is nominated for a P3 Guld award (swedish radio's annual music awards), meaning it is considered to be one of this years 5 best rock/metal albums. Pretty awesome indeed! The award ceremony will be held on January 18th 2008 and will be live broadcast on national swedish TV and radio.
Last but definitely not least, on tuesday we'll once again lock us up in the touring van together with our good friends in SWITCHBLADE. Three swedish gigs and one in Oslo. You don't wanna miss this, so check out the gigs page and decide which show you'll attend, if not all four!
By the way, the horribly delayed vinyl version of "Counting Heartbeats" seems to be actually coming within no more than 2 weeks. More info soon.
A couple of recent interviews:
Creative Eclipse (in english)
Tinnitus Mag (in german)
Metal Hammer (in german)

2007-10-16 German and Scandinavian tours
We're happy to announce two upcoming tours, one 5-day German tour with Ocean Chief in November, and a 4-day Scandinavian tour with Switchblade in December. The near future also holds a couple of Swedish festival gigs. Find out all about it on the gigs page.

2007-09-05 Vinyl, gigs, reviews, interview
True myspaceians might have noticed that there's a new 5 minute clip up on our page called "Drifting on waves". This is a recording that we finished a couple of weeks ago, and is nothing less than a 25-minute epic, to be released very soon on a split LP with Ocean Chief. Look out for this limited vinyl-only release at Land O Smiles Records. Also a sweet split 7" with Witch-Lord (as part of 5x7" box set "Pharmacopoeia") will be released very soon by the same label.
UK based Sound Devastation Records are getting ready to unleash our "Counting Heartbeats" album on 2xLP (on 180g coloured vinyl in nice gatefold packaging). No release date set yet, but it seems like this beauty will hit the streets in late october.
A bunch of nice bookings have dropped in lately, check out the gigs section! Apart from some one-off shows around Sweden during the fall, we'll also go out on a 4-night tour through Scandinavia with our friends in Switchblade in December! Only 2 dates confirmed as of yet, but look back soon for the remaining two!
Even more awesome reviews have dropped in lately, we're really overwhelmed by all the great feedback our album keeps getting! Also, a pretty long interview with David is now available at this webzine, anyone wanting to dig deeper into the occult presence that is Kongh, check it out.

2007-08-01 Kongh confirmed for ROADBURN 2008
We're really excited to let you know that we're confirmed to play at the Roadburn Festival at 013 in Tilburg, Holland next year. For anybody who's into stoner/doom/psyche etc this festival won't need any further presentation. We'll play on the saturday (19th of april) in the Green Room together with some awesome bands yet to be announced. Hope to see you there!!!
Also, things have gone really good in the media recently. Our new album "Counting Heartbeats" has been out for less than a month, and we've received tons of great reviews since then. Some swedish, some english, some french, german and even italian - read them all in the press section!

2007-07-03 French review and upcoming gigs
People in Linköping should drop by L'Orient on the 25th of August, as Kongh will appear and serve you a heavy night of riffing together with the mighty death thrashers 12 Gauge Dead. Lots of more gigs are in the works so check back often to find out when the big ugly ape will hit your town.
We got a new review in the fine french COREandCO Webzine. They gave our new album a 9 out of 10 grade and also made us the band of the month. Check out the zine here and the review in our press section.

2007-06-19 Kongh invades national swedish radio
Everyone who owns or knows someone who owns a radio should gather your friends and family and tune in P3 on thursday night, as the mighty Kongh will appear in the program "P3 Rock" with some material from our upcoming album. The show starts right after 23.00. Miss it or be doomed!

2007-06-12 New album voted #1 in Close-Up Magazine
Our debut album "Counting Heartbeats", to be released on July 7th, was featured in the Soundcheck section of the new issue Close-Up Magazine. We won the whole thing, beating bands like Entombed, Turbonegro, Behemoth and King Diamond. On the free cd that the subscribers get, you will get to hear our song "Pushed beyond", which is, according to the magazine, the longest track ever to be featured on the Soundcheck cd. The magazine also has a short interview with me (David). Check it out.

2007-05-31 Does Kongh dig vinyl? FUCK YES!
Many might have wondered if "Counting Heartbeats" will be available on vinyl. Of course it will! The ones taking care of the release is the good folks over at the Notthingham, England based Sound Devastation Records. It will be a double LP in deluxe gatefold packaging. Limited to 800 pieces on thick coloured vinyl (600 dark brown, 200 dark green w/black starburst). As with the CD, Seldon Hunt is taking care of the artwork duties. Release date and pre-ordering info will show up soon.
And the good news doesn't end there. Anyone heard of the american label Land O Smiles? Of course you have. These guys have two different Kongh vinyls coming up. The first one being a split 12" with one of Swedens heaviest - OCEAN CHIEF. For this one we will record one exclusive brick of a tune called "Drifting on waves", a heavy bastard well above the 20 minute mark. The mighty Chief song is called "Freja". Two swedish bands doing one long track each. Pure doom. Limited to 500 copies on heavy weight black vinyl. A must buy for any fan of Swedish heaviness. This one will be released as soon as we've recorded our song, which will be soon, so expect a release within a couple of months.
Our second vinyl release on Land O Smiles will be a split 7" with the occult doomsters WITCH-LORD, hailing from Reno, Nevada. They'll do a song called "Blood for Kali", while we'll use an older song called "Turn into dust". This record will be part of a 5x7" box set compilation called "Pharmacopeia". Other bands includes Accept Death, Behold! The Living Corpse, Coffins, Deadbird, Fossegrimen, The Misanthrope Project, Ravens Creed and Raw Radar War. Limited to 250 copies. Rediciously thick vinyl guaranteed. Release date will probably be sometime at the end of the summer or early autumn.
Keep your eyes open for more info!

2007-05-17 Audio samples
You people out there who've been waiting to hear anything from the album, head over to our myspace page, where audio samples of "Pushed beyond" and "Counting heartbeats" can be enjoyed.
Trust No One Recordings are now taking pre-orders of the album from customers worldwide. They accept all the major credit cards and Paypal, and they also promise to send out the CD a good while before the actual release date.
We wanna thank everybody who showed up at the Sludgefest gig in Sandviken last weekend, also big cheers to Sanctuary In Blasphemy and Matsudo (and the lovely BBB crew of course). Check out the pics and press sections for photos and reviews. Two local newspapers gave us their highest possible grades, and one of them also stated that we looked like we could be on the cover for Playgirl Magazine "Summerboys issue". I have no idea what he was on, but it must have been good.
Oh yeah, we've got a new grimm website as well, but unless you're a complete pundhuvud you've already noticed. Hope you'll like it, we do!

2007-04-26 Release date: 07/07/07 (pre-order now)
We've got lots of good news since the last newsflash. First of all, the release date is now set to the 7th of July - 07/07/07. We spent the whole easter weekend in the studio, mixing the whole thing. This friday we're heading for Tailor Maid in Stockholm, where Peter in de Betou will master and put the finishing touches to our recording.
Swedish (and Scandinavian, and even European) customers should head over to CDON.com right now and pre-order "Counting Heartbeats". More European retailers will be announced shortly.
Subscribers of Close-Up Magazine will get a pleasant surprise in June, since our song "Pushed beyond" is going to be on the free CD that comes with the magazine. As said before, that applies to subscribers only!
Wanna see us live? Come to Sandviken on May 12th, where we'll be raising hell together with Sanctuary In Blasphemy. More info here!
Last but defenitely not least: Seldon Hunt has now finished the artwork for the album, and it looks totally amazing. Can't wait to see the final printed package. Below is just front cover, there's way more, but to see that you'll haveto wait until it's released, and of course, buy the album. Have a load of THIS:

2007-04-02 Quick newsflash
After over two months of hard work in the studio we reached our goal last weekend - the recording is now finished! We added the last vocals, added some guitar and some hi-hat, and we also got a visit from bluesmaster Jacob Steinvall who added some slide licks on "Pushed beyond".
The mixing sessions are set to next weekend (painting eggs is for pussies) and we'll most likely have enough time to mix all five tracks.
A few more pics from the last session are added to our website gallery!

2007-03-29 Seldon Hunt designs Kongh album
The recording of the album is about 95% finished, so after next weekend we'll only have the mixing and mastering left, we're getting there!
More good news: we're stoked to tell you that none other than Seldon Hunt will create the artwork for this album. The few out there who aren't familiar with his graphic design and photography work should check out www.seldonhunt.com immediately!

2007-03-08 More visuals + new gig booked
A few more pictures from the studio sessions added. Have a look in the gallery!
Kongh are playing a show in Sandviken on May 12th at Sludgefest #1 / Kungen. More info here!

2007-02-22 Studio pics, album title, live video
Some of you might be wondering if we're making any progress in the studio. The answer is yes! Even though things have kept getting in the way lately, leaving us unable to spend as much time in the studio as we'd like, we've managed to complete all of the drums and distortion guitar by now. This weekend we're hitting Teknikkompaniet once again, and we aim to complete all the remaining guitar tracks and then plug in Oskar´s amp and get started with the bass. As it looks now, the studio sessions will take place pretty often from now on, so hopefully the recording is finished within a month or so.
The album now has a title - "Counting Heartbeats".
Our friend Josefin came by the studio one weekend to shoot some pics of us working and fighting, check them out in the picture section of our website.
Also, for you real bootleg video enthusiasts, there's a live clip of "Zihuatanejo" available for streaming for a limited time at our Myspace page! Filmed with a vintage Sony Handycam tape recorder! Old school! Our good friend Chris is the guy to thank for this - cheers on you mate.

2007-01-07 Info on upcoming album
Some of you people already know it, most don't, now you all do; in the near future we'll record and release our first album! The album will be recorded in the same studio as we used for our demo, again with Peter "Ska det verkligen låta så här, grabbar?" Lundin, only this time we'll work harder, longer and with even better results! The yet untitled album will include two songs from the demo ("Zihuatanejo" and "Adapt the void", re-recorded of course), and three new epic beasts called "Megaprimatus", "Pushed beyond" and "Counting heartbeats".
The album will be released by Trust No One Recordings (link), a Stockholm based label with a catalogue including releases by fine artists like Isis, Khanate, Switchblade, Candlemass, Old Man Gloom and Cult Of Luna, to name a few.
Right now we're practising and warming up for the studio sessions, beginning January 19th. Keep an eye on our website, our labels website and our myspace page for further updates and information. We expect the recording to be completed in February, and hopefully the album will be in stores this spring.
We also added a bunch of fine reviews of the demo which can be read in the press section.
We have a few copies left of "Demo 2006". Once they're gone, they're gone forever, so if you desperately want to own one, now's your last chance dude.

2006-10-05 Great news for gothenburgians
It's now confirmed that we will play a show on the 23rd of october in Gothenburg. The club is called "Spatt", and it's located in Underjorden. Any info you need can be found at www.spatt.info. Other bands playing will be Ökoru (USA) and Exhale (S). It's gonna be a heavy night indeed! See you there.
